- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, combine 3 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp instant yeast, 2 tbsp sugar, and 1 tsp salt.
- Step 2: Add 1 cup warm water to the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Step 3: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Step 4: Preheat oven to 425°F. Dissolve 1 tbsp baking soda in 2 cups hot water in a large bowl.
- Step 5: Punch down the risen dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 12-inch rope and tie into a knot.
- Step 6: Place pretzel knots in the baking soda solution for 1 minute, then transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Step 7: Mix 1 tbsp cinnamon with 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2 tbsp melted butter. Brush melted butter over pretzels, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Step 8: Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
