Butter Pecan Pie with Brown Butter Glaze

Ingredients
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup pecans
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll 1.5 cups all-purpose flour and 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter into a pie crust, then press into a 9-inch pie dish. Bake blind for 12 minutes until golden.
- Step 2: Toast 1 cup pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes until fragrant, then cool and chop coarsely.
- Step 3: Whisk 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 2 tbsp cornstarch, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/4 tsp salt in a bowl until smooth.
- Step 4: Stir in toasted pecans, then pour filling into pre-baked crust. Bake for 50 minutes until center is set but slightly wobbly. Cool completely before glazing.
