Chai-Spiced Apple Crumble with Oat Topping

Ingredients
- 4 medium, peeled and sliced 1/2-inch apples
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup, cold and cubed butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 cup, chopped (optional) pecans
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, toss 4 peeled and sliced apples with 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ginger, and 1/4 tsp cardamom; transfer to a baking dish.
- Step 2: In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup cold cubed butter, and 2 tbsp brown sugar until crumbly; stir in 1/4 cup chopped pecans if using.
- Step 3: Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
- Step 4: Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden and the apples are bubbling around the edges.
