Ingredients
- 4 firm (Bartlett or Bosc), peeled and cored pears
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1, split and seeds scraped (or 1 tsp vanilla extract) vanilla bean
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 cup (optional) apple cider
Instructions
- Step 1: Place 4 firm pears (peeled and cored) in a medium saucepan. Add 1 cup water, 1/2 cup honey, 1 vanilla bean (split and seeds scraped), 1 cinnamon stick, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, and 1/2 cup apple cider (if using).
- Step 2: Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until pears are tender when pierced with a fork.
