Kashmiri Kahwa with Saffron and Almonds

  1. Step 1: In a small pot, combine green tea, water, and milk. Bring to gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to simmer and steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Add sugar, ground cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. Stir to dissolve sugar, then simmer for 2 more minutes.
  3. Step 3: Strain tea into a serving pot, discarding tea leaves. Stir in saffron threads soaked in 1 tablespoon warm milk and sliced almonds.
  4. Step 4: Gently heat for 1 minute to warm through (do not boil). Stir in dried rose petals if using. Serve hot.
