Kashmiri Kahwa with Saffron and Almonds
A traditional Kashmiri green tea infused with saffron, cardamom, and almonds, served warm and fragrant.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup green tea
- 4 cups water
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp saffron threads
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 1/4 cup dried rose petals
Instructions
- Step 1: In a small pot, combine green tea, water, and milk. Bring to gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to simmer and steep for 5 minutes.
- Step 2: Add sugar, ground cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. Stir to dissolve sugar, then simmer for 2 more minutes.
- Step 3: Strain tea into a serving pot, discarding tea leaves. Stir in saffron threads soaked in 1 tablespoon warm milk and sliced almonds.
- Step 4: Gently heat for 1 minute to warm through (do not boil). Stir in dried rose petals if using. Serve hot.
