Lemon-Glazed Pound Cake

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Whisk 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1.5 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a medium bowl.
  2. Step 2: Beat 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter and 1 cup granulated sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (3 minutes). Add 2 large eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  3. Step 3: Add dry ingredients alternately with 1/2 cup buttermilk, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Fold in 1 tablespoon lemon zest and 2 tablespoons lemon juice until just combined. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth top.
