Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 8 slices thick-cut brioche bread
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions
- Step 1: In a shallow dish, whisk together 4 large eggs, 1 cup whole milk, 2 tbsp pure maple syrup, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg until smooth and well combined. Dip each slice of thick-cut brioche bread into the mixture for 30 seconds per side, pressing gently to saturate without breaking the bread.
- Step 2: Melt 4 tbsp unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat until golden and bubbling. Add the soaked bread slices in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until deeply golden brown and crisp.
- Step 3: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup mini marshmallows and 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips. Microwave on high for 20 seconds, then stir until smooth; microwave in 10-second increments if needed until fully melted.
- Step 4: Drizzle the chocolate-marshmallow mixture evenly over the cooked French toast slices. Warm 2 tbsp heavy cream in a small saucepan over low heat for 2 minutes until hot but not boiling, then drizzle over the French toast just before serving.
