Maple-Spiced Sazerac with Absinthe Rinse

Ingredients
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 1/4 oz maple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp absinthe
- 4 ice cubes
Instructions
- Step 1: Rinse a chilled rocks glass with 1/4 tsp absinthe, then discard the excess absinthe immediately.
- Step 2: In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz rye whiskey, 1/4 oz maple syrup, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, and 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon. Stir for 30 seconds until the cinnamon is fully incorporated and the mixture is chilled.
- Step 3: Strain into the prepared glass over 4 fresh ice cubes. Garnish with a lemon twist.
