Momo with Spicy Tomato Chutney
Steamed dumplings filled with spiced cabbage and carrots, served with a tangy tomato chutney.

Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 cup Cabbage
- 1/2 cup Carrots
- 1/4 cup Onion
- 1 teaspoon Ginger
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
- 3/4 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 2 medium Tomatoes
- 1 Green chilies
Instructions
- Step 1: In a bowl, combine 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1/2 cup water, kneading until smooth. Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
- Step 2: In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons oil over medium heat. Add 1/4 cup minced onion, 1 teaspoon minced ginger, and 1 minced garlic clove, sautéing for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Step 3: Add 1 cup shredded cabbage, 1/2 cup julienned carrots, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon salt, cooking for 5 minutes until vegetables are tender. Cool completely.
- Step 4: Roll rested dough into 3-inch circles. Place 1 tablespoon filling in the center of each circle, fold in half, and seal edges by crimping with a fork.
- Step 5: Steam dumplings for 10 minutes in a lined steamer basket.
- Step 6: Blend 2 chopped medium tomatoes, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1 teaspoon minced ginger, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 finely chopped green chili, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until smooth for chutney.
- Step 7: Serve steamed momo with chutney on the side.
