- 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
Instructions
- Step 1: Trim stems from 1 lb fresh okra and slice into 1/2-inch rounds, patting dry with paper towels.
- Step 2: Whisk 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 2 tbsp cornstarch, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper in a shallow bowl.
- Step 3: Heat 1/4 cup vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering (350°F).
- Step 4: Dredge okra rounds in batter, shaking off excess, and fry in hot oil for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Step 5: Transfer to a wire rack to drain, then sprinkle with 1 tbsp lemon juice before serving.
