Pan-Fried Pork Chops with Apple and Thyme

Ingredients
- 4 bone-in (1 inch thick) pork chops
- 1, peeled and diced Granny Smith apple
- 1 tablespoon, chopped fresh thyme
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat 4 bone-in pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour over chops and press to adhere.
- Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked to 145°F internal temperature; remove and set aside.
- Step 3: In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Add 1 diced Granny Smith apple and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened but not mushy.
- Step 4: Stir in 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme and return pork chops to skillet. Spoon apple mixture over chops and cook for 1-2 minutes to absorb flavors.
- Step 5: Transfer to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
