Sautéed Green Beans with Toasted Almonds and Lemon Zest

- 1 lb, trimmed green beans
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup, sliced almonds
- 2 cloves, minced garlic
- 1, zest and 1 tbsp juice lemon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp (optional) red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1/4 cup sliced almonds and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until golden and fragrant. Transfer to a plate.
- Step 2: Add 1 lb trimmed green beans to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp-tender.
- Step 3: Add 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in 1 tsp lemon zest, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1 more minute until flavors meld.
- Step 4: Return toasted almonds to skillet, toss to combine, and serve immediately.
