Ingredients
- 4 bone-in (1 inch thick) pork chops
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat 4 bone-in pork chops dry, then rub with 1 tbsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp dried thyme, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
- Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and cook for 5 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 145°F. Transfer to a plate and tent with foil.
- Step 3: Add 1 thinly sliced large onion to the skillet and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes until softened. Sprinkle 2 tbsp flour over onions and stir for 1 minute to form a paste. Gradually whisk in 1 cup chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up browned bits.
- Step 4: Cook for 3 minutes until gravy thickens, then stir in 2 tbsp heavy cream. Return pork chops to skillet, spooning gravy over them, and heat for 2 minutes until warmed through.
