Smoked Gouda and Herb Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp, cubed cold unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup, shredded smoked Gouda cheese
- 2 tbsp, finely chopped fresh chives
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F. Whisk 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1.5 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt in a bowl.
- Step 2: Cut 4 tbsp cold butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs, then fold in 1/2 cup shredded smoked Gouda and 2 tbsp chopped chives.
- Step 3: Stir in 1/2 cup buttermilk until a shaggy dough forms. Turn onto a floured surface and gently knead 3 times.
- Step 4: Pat dough into a 1-inch-thick circle, then cut into 8 wedges. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
