Sour Cherry and Apple Compote

Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Frozen sour cherries
- 2, peeled and diced Granny Smith apples
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp All-purpose flour
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine 1.5 cups frozen sour cherries, 2 diced peeled Granny Smith apples, 1/2 cup water, and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Step 2: Once simmering, stir in 2 tbsp honey and 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and cherries have broken down.
- Step 3: Stir in 1 tbsp all-purpose flour mixed with 2 tbsp cold water to form a slurry. Continue to simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the compote thickens to a sauce-like consistency.
