Ingredients
- 2 tbsp black tea
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Step 1: Combine 2 tbsp black tea leaves, 1 cup water, and 1/4 tsp salt in a small saucepan, bringing to a simmer over medium heat for 3 minutes.
- Step 2: Add 2 cups milk and 1 tbsp butter to the saucepan, stirring constantly until butter melts and milk is heated through (do not boil).
- Step 3: Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
- Step 4: Strain the tea into cups using a fine-mesh sieve to remove tea leaves, then serve warm immediately.
