Tomato-Glazed Oven-Baked Meatloaf

- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 0.5 pounds ground pork
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup, finely diced onion
- 2 cloves, minced garlic
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine 1.5 pounds ground beef, 0.5 pounds ground pork, 1 large egg, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup finely diced onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
- Step 2: Mix with hands until evenly combined, then shape into a loaf and place in a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Step 3: In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons ketchup.
- Step 4: Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Step 5: Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) when measured with a meat thermometer.
- Step 6: Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
