Aviator Pasta with Garlic-Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves, minced garlic
- 1 cup, halved cherry tomatoes
- 1/4 cup, chopped fresh basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup, grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 oz spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
- Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 3 cloves garlic, minced, and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant and golden.
- Step 3: Add 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until tomatoes soften and release juices.
- Step 4: Add drained spaghetti and 2 tbsp reserved pasta water to the skillet. Toss with tongs for 1 minute until sauce coats the pasta evenly, adding more pasta water if needed.
- Step 5: Stir in 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Toss until cheese melts and combines with the pasta, then serve immediately.
