Classic Estate Meatloaf with Tomato Glaze

Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 1 medium, finely diced onion
- 2 cloves, minced garlic
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 large egg
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp mustard
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, combine 1.5 lbs ground beef, 1 finely diced medium onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1 large egg, 3 tbsp ketchup, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Step 2: Transfer mixture to a loaf pan and shape into a loaf. In a small bowl, whisk 1/4 cup tomato sauce, 1 tbsp brown sugar, and 1 tsp mustard. Spread evenly over the meatloaf.
- Step 3: Bake for 55-60 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F, then let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
