Instructions

  1. Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add 8 ounces spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain spaghetti.
  2. Step 2: Heat 3 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to brown garlic.
  3. Step 3: Add drained cannellini beans, 1 tablespoon lemon zest, and 2 tablespoons lemon juice to skillet. Stir to combine and heat through for 2 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Add drained spaghetti to skillet, then add 1/2 cup reserved pasta water. Toss vigorously for 2 minutes until sauce thickens and coats pasta. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Step 5: Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
