One-Pan Tomato Basil Pasta with Parmesan

Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2, diced onion
- 3 cloves, minced garlic
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup, chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup, reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 oz spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente, then drain and reserve 1/4 cup pasta water.
- Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1/2 diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Step 3: Add 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in 1 can crushed tomatoes, 1/4 cup fresh basil, 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, and 1/2 tsp salt.
- Step 4: Add drained spaghetti to skillet and toss to coat. Stir in 1/4 cup reserved pasta water and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese until creamy and well combined.
