One-Pot Tomato Pasta with Basil and Cream

- 12 oz spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves, minced garlic
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup, chopped fresh basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup, grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add 12 oz spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente, then drain and reserve 1/2 cup pasta water.
- Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, avoiding browning.
- Step 3: Stir in 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes and 1/2 tsp salt, simmering for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Step 4: Add drained spaghetti to the skillet with 1/4 cup reserved pasta water and 1/4 cup heavy cream, tossing until the sauce coats the strands evenly.
- Step 5: Stir in 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and serve immediately topped with 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
