Road Trip Tomato Basil Pasta

Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 12 oz cherry tomatoes
- 1/4 cup fresh basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add 8 oz spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente, then drain and reserve 1/2 cup pasta water.
- Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Step 3: Add 12 oz cherry tomatoes and 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, cooking for 3-4 minutes until tomatoes soften and release juices, then stir in 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil and 1/2 tsp salt.
- Step 4: Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet along with 1/2 cup reserved pasta water. Toss for 1 minute until the sauce coats the pasta evenly and thickens slightly.
