Smoky Tomato-Basil Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes

Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb cherry tomatoes
- 1/4 cup fresh basil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp sea salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 oz spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
- Step 2: While pasta cooks, heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Step 3: Add 1 lb halved cherry tomatoes and 1/2 tsp sea salt, cooking for 5-6 minutes until tomatoes burst and sauce thickens slightly.
- Step 4: Add drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing with 2 tbsp reserved pasta water and 1/4 cup chopped basil until the sauce coats each strand evenly. Add more pasta water if needed to reach desired consistency.
