One-Pan Lemon and Basil Pasta
A bright, herbaceous pasta cooked entirely in one skillet with zesty lemon and fresh basil.

Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves, minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1, zested and juiced lemon
- 1/2 cup, fresh, chopped basil
- 1/2 cup, grated Parmesan cheese
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- 1/4 cup, reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add 12 oz spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente, then drain and reserve 1/4 cup pasta water.
- Step 2: Heat 3 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant — do not let garlic brown.
- Step 3: Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet along with 1/2 cup fresh basil, 1 lemon zest, 1/2 cup lemon juice, and 1/4 cup reserved pasta water. Toss for 2 minutes until sauce thickens and coats pasta.
- Step 4: Stir in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
