  2. Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and cook for 60 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Step 3: Add drained penne, 2 cups halved cherry tomatoes, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper to skillet. Toss for 3 minutes until tomatoes soften. Stir in 2 tbsp reserved pasta water and 1/4 cup chopped basil, cooking until sauce coats pasta evenly.
