Pan-Seared Chicken with Apple and Sage

Ingredients
- 4 (6 oz each), boneless and skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 2 tbsp, fresh and chopped sage
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
- Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Step 3: Add chicken breasts and cook for 5 minutes per side, until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F; transfer to a plate and tent with foil.
- Step 4: Add 2 tbsp fresh sage and 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar to the skillet, scraping up browned bits; simmer for 2 minutes.
- Step 5: Stir in 1/2 cup apple cider and 1 tbsp butter, then return chicken to the skillet; simmer for 3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
