Slow Cooker Cumin-Spiced Beef with Orange

Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef chuck
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 orange
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 medium onion
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: In a small bowl, mix 2 tsp ground cumin, 2 tbsp orange zest, and 1/4 cup orange juice until smooth.
- Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add 1.5 lbs beef chuck cubes and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until deeply browned, then transfer to a slow cooker.
- Step 3: Add 4 minced garlic cloves and 1 diced medium onion to the slow cooker with the beef.
- Step 4: Pour 1 cup chicken broth, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper over the ingredients, then add the cumin-orange mixture, stirring to coat evenly.
- Step 5: Secure the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours until the beef is fork-tender and easily shreds.
