Pan-Seared Beef Steak with Garlic Butter and Mushrooms

Ingredients
- 8 oz, ribeye or sirloin beef steak
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves, minced garlic
- 4 oz, sliced mushrooms
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat 8 oz beef steak dry with paper towels, then season with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
- Step 2: Heat 1 tsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Step 3: Add beef steak and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- Step 4: Remove steak and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Step 5: In the same skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat, then add 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Step 6: Add 4 oz sliced mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes until tender and golden.
- Step 7: Slice steak and serve with mushroom sauce.
