Pan-Seared Chicken Breasts with Lemon-Garlic Pan Sauce

Ingredients
- 4 (6 oz each) chicken breasts
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tsp fresh thyme
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat 4 chicken breasts (6 oz each) dry and season with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
- Step 2: Heat 3 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear for 5 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Step 3: Remove chicken and set aside. Add 4 minced garlic cloves to the skillet, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Step 4: Pour in 1/2 cup chicken broth and 1 tbsp lemon juice, scraping up browned bits. Add 2 tsp fresh thyme and simmer for 3 minutes until sauce reduces by half.
- Step 5: Stir in 2 tbsp butter until melted. Return chicken to skillet, coating in sauce. Cook for 2 more minutes to heat through.
