Pan-Seared Salmon with Caper-Lemon Butter

  1. Step 1: Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with 1/4 tsp sea salt.
  2. Step 2: Heat 1 tsp olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Step 3: Place salmon skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4 minutes without moving until golden brown.
  4. Step 4: Flip salmon and cook for 2 more minutes until opaque at the center.
  5. Step 5: Remove salmon from skillet and set aside.
  6. Step 6: Add 2 tbsp unsalted butter, 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1 tbsp pickled capers, and 1/4 tsp garlic powder to the skillet.
  7. Step 7: Whisk constantly over medium heat until butter emulsifies and sauce thickens slightly, about 1 minute.
  8. Step 8: Return salmon to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top.
