Instructions
- Step 1: Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season evenly with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
- Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs skin-side down and cook for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes.
- Step 3: Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Add lemon juice and 1/4 cup chopped basil, then stir to combine.
- Step 4: Add asparagus to the skillet, nestling it around the chicken. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through (internal temperature 165°F) and asparagus is tender-crisp.
- Step 5: Remove chicken and asparagus to a plate, and let rest for 2 minutes. Discard any excess oil from the skillet, then return to heat and reduce the sauce for 1 minute until slightly thickened.
